Looking forward to the paddle Sunday. Looks like there will be a bit of a headwind....
Approx. 15 km from Carrigaholt; approx. 11 km from Rinvalla bay. The Carrigaholt group will pull into Rinvealla & any paddlers going from Rhinvalla will join up then.
We'll know better on the day. We plan to scout conditions early. Keep an eye on the wiska forum for updates.

Later.
Matt.

Folks,
We took a spin back west tonight & the estuary is quite calm. Lovely calm evening, hopefully it will stay like that.
Options are:
Carrigaholt to Kilbaha
Rinevalla to Kilbaha
Paddle at Kilbaha.
We'll decide on the day.
We plan to meet in Carrigaholt at 11:00.
See ye there hopefully.
Woo Hoo!

A great gathering, and yes a chance to meet up again with friends, and find others. I found out in conversation with a young lady that I had been paddling alongside that we had family connections going back generations and may well be distant cousins. How cool is that? :)

Thanks for coming West guys, great to meet up again. As for looking out for each other's safety that goes with the territory on all adventure activities, and was indeed Hopper's way, I know that first hand. What we try and do is stretch it a bit, challenge ourselves, but hopefully everyone gets home safe at the end of the day.
All the best for now

Great day. Great to see a bunch of sea kayaks in Kilbaha again. Pity about the conditions but the whole day worked well for a finish.....

We finally wound down Hopper's Way with the Monday Club in Keatings Bar on Monday night. Epic weekend. Think there is still the odd body laying around the Cottage, but that is Hoppers Way, second time I met him he stayed on for 4 days after a pal's birthday party, teaching me with infinite patience how to do a bow line with his rantings on nihilism and how best to pilot around Loophead in a force 7. We all miss him every day. He would have loved to see all those kayaks and Currachs out on the bay. We once came into land in Ross Bay in a force 5 which he said was 'a wee bit bouncy'. There was only one Hopper.
Himself and Neptune where having a great laugh Sunday morning showing us who's the boss, than throwing in the sunshine for a finish as a wee cheeky smile. Next years Hoppers Way is going to be even better.
Great to dance on the water with you guys.
Rip.
